3 months old

Today Porter is three months old, holy cow where has the time gone. There is not a day that goes by that Seth and I don't give thanks for this beautiful little boy that we have been given. He makes our day every single day with all the cute things he does. I've had so much fun spending my days with him. I'm going to miss it when I go back to work in two weeks:(

Porter loves...
- Talking to mommy and daddy in the morning when he wakes up
- His baths by himself and with mommy
- He loves sleeping with mommy
- He loves being sang to
- He loves having his diaper off (if he ever is fussy we will take off his diaper and he cheers up and is happy again).
- He loves his activity mat. He'll kick his legs, smile and talk while he's on it
- He loves to sleep in his swing
- He loves to tell us stories, he's always cooing.
- To smile and we're starting to get some chuckles out of him

Porter doesn't like...
- Tummy time. We can only get him to be on his tummy for a couple of minutes before he wants to be off his tummy.
- To wait to be fed. When he's hungary I better feed him then or he gets mad
- His carseat-
- Doesn't like it when the car is stopped at a stop light or stop sign

2 month check-up

Weight 10 lbs 12 oz.
Height 22 2/3 in.

Porter is really starting to show his personally. He loves his activity mat and his mobile. He starts smiling and making the cutest sounds when he is watching them. One big milestone that he accomplished last night was he slept through the night. That's right he slept for 9 1/2 hrs. He is just the best baby that we could have asked for. We look forward to all the things Porter will do this next month.

Porter's Blessing

Today Seth got to bless our beautiful baby boy. Seth gave him such a wonderful blessing and when the blessing was over and Seth lifted him up to show the congregation, Porter lift up his hands and made a touch down sign, it was so cute. We had a lot of family and friends there to support us and we appreciate everyone who came to be there for this special occasion.

First Plane Ride to Colorado

Porter and I flew to Colorado this weekend. It was a little scary and nerve-racking flying with a 2 week old all by myself but it turned out to be really easy. Porter slept pretty much the entire flight. While we were in CO Porter got to meet so many friends and family. Everyone loved him. Seth was so happy when we got home on Saturday and spent the rest of the night holding and staring at his son. Seth and I look forward to Thanksgiving where we can all be together in CO with our families.

Grandpa Gott Visits

This weekend my dad was able to come out from Colorado to visit. We had a lot of fun with him. My dad loved spending time with Porter. This Wednesday Porter and I will be taking our first trip out to Colorado to meet the rest of the "Gott" and "Campbell" family, there are a lot of excited people to meet our little guy and I am so excited to be able to show off what Seth and I brought into this world.

Porter's First Week Home

Seth and I were so excited to go home from the hospital two days after Porter came but we were a little nervous too, good thing we had all of Seth's family in town to help us transition to this new life. Seth and I just want to thank Grandma and Grandpa Campbell and Jackliyn and Cherilyn for everything they did for Seth and I as well as for Porter. We are so grateful to you guys for all the help you gave us while you were here.

Here are some of Porter's likes and dislikes.
Likes:
Sleeping, eating, being held, sucking on his binkie and being swaddled

Dislikes:
Getting a bath, changing his diaper and waiting to be fed.

Today Porter had his first check-up. He gained 3 oz. and now weighs 6 lbs 5 oz and he's 19 and 1/4 inches long.

Porter's Here

On Sunday night at around 9:30pm I kissed Seth goodnight and headed upstairs to go to bed. Seth came up around 11:00pm gave me a kiss and back to sleep I went but not for long. Around 11:15pm I was woken up by what I thought was a kick and then my water broke. Seth and I got our things together and headed to the hospital. They checked me when I got there and I was at 3cm. At 3:30am I couldn't take the pain anymore so I got an epidural. Seth and I took a nap for a little bit and at 7:30 the doctor came in checked me and said alright let's start pushing. I couldn't believe it. I pushed for about 30 minutes and at 8:03am our precious baby boy came out. This experience has been nothing but wonderful. Seth and I are so happy and so blessed to have Porter here with us. This is what life is all about.

The Nursery's Done!!!

The nursery is finally done. We got our last piece of furniture, the glider/ottoman earlier this week and today we were able to put up all the wall hangings. We love this room. Now all we need is our sweet baby boy.

Contractions have picked up a ton these last couple of days. I'm beginning to think that I am going to be having this baby a lot sooner than I thought. We'll see if he is ready to come out here though.

Relieved

Today I had another check-up. Seth and I were a little nervous going into it because we weren't sure if Porter had been a good boy and flipped head down or if he was still breech. Well we are so glad that we already have a little boy that minds his parents and has flipped and is in position for the final descent. My doctor also checked to see if I had started dilating and I have, I am at 2 cm. That really doesn't say much because it still could be a while until I go into actual labor, but that's 2 cm down only 8 to go.

33 weeks

I had a check up earlier in the week and everything is still going really smooth, except for one little thing, he's breech. The doctor says I really have nothing to worry about because he should turn on his own before it gets too late. However, she did say that if he stays breech up to my 36 week mark then they will have to physically try and flip him. The bad part about that is, if there is too much stress on him and his heart rate drops or if the umbilical cord gets wrapped around his neck then they will have to do an emergency C-Section right then. I'm not extremely nervous about that but I do hope he flips because I do not want to have a C-Section.

Our dad's came to visit us this weekend. We had so much fun with them. They are wonderful men and we are so happy that Porter will have two outstanding Grandpa's.

32 weeks

This week has been a very active and uncomfortable week. With school starting I am getting back into the routine of waking up at 5:00am and going to bed around 9:30pm. Seth hates the fact that I'm going to bed earlier now. Porter is growing that is for sure. My belly is starting to feel like there is no more room to stretch, but I still have 8 weeks to go so I'm sure there is still plenty of room to stretch and grow. Seth and I finished our childbirth class yesterday. It was a great class and we learned a lot. We have more of a plan now on what we hope to do when I go into labor.
Those of you who know me know that I can sometimes have expensive taste, especially when it comes to this little boy I'm having. When I started registering for things, I found this adorable travel system, playard and swing made out of the same fabric, but it was pretty expensive. I still registered for it because I was going to find some way to get at least one piece for Porter. Well things have worked out wonderfully and with the help of some generous people, especially my mother-in-law Jill, Seth and I were able to get all three pieces this week. Thank you Jill for helping us get these wonderful things.

31 weeks

This week I started back to school with meetings and next Tuesday students come back. At the end of the last school year I wasn't really showing and I didn't tell many people, so it made for a pretty interesting and funny first reaction with many of my co-workers. Today Seth and I had our first labor and delivery class. To say the least Seth was not excited for today, he was a great sport though and he got through the class, even the birth film we watched. Here's the latest picture. The things I have been feeling a lot lately are lots of indigestion, leg cramps, frequent urination and of course just being very emotional. I have at least one day a week that I just start crying and I can't stop. Seth has been a great support, he is such a sweetheart.

30 weeks

Here's the latest pix of the belly. It's getting so big, but I love it so much. I missed putting up a pix last week because I was home in CO for another shower. The shower was thrown by Seth's mom and my mom, it was so nice, I got some really nice things for Porter. Thank you mom and Jill for the wonderful shower you threw. My mom drove home with Seth and I to help get the babies room done. Her gift to us was the crib and all the wall and window stuff for the room. We spent all of Monday, Tuesday and part of Wednesday painting, molding, putting a wall border up and getting furniture all together. Porter's room looks so cute. I still have a couple more pieces of furniture coming so as soon as I get it all up I will post pictures. Thanks mom for all you did for the room. I love you so much, you're the BEST!!!

27 weeks
Another week has flown by and now I am in my third and final trimester. Wow! I can't believe how fast things are going. On Monday I had another check-up. Everything is still looking great. My routine blood test came back perfect, which is a relief because it is my first pregnancy and any kind of test I have to get makes me a little nervous to hear the results. This week I signed us up for birth preparation classes. Seth is not so excited about taking the class as I am, we start the classes next month. Yesterday we got Porter's bedding that we ordered. It is so adorable. I can't wait to start decorating his room. Here's a picture of what his bedding looks like.

Utah Baby Shower

Last Wednesday my mom and sister threw a baby shower for me in Utah for all my friends and family. It turned out so great. There were so many people there to support me and my soon to be son Porter. Porter was showered with gifts that will be of great use when he is born. I just wanted to thank everyone for coming. It was so wonderful to see everyone and I am so grateful to have such wonderful people in my life. I love you all. Here are some pictures from the shower.
